So I saw that an issue regarding a BIKE RACK was acknowledged by a city department but something as serious as drug dealing in our neighborhoods is not? What is wrong with this picture? Give me an answer!

What exactly is your complaint so I can assist in putting an end to it? Address, descriptions...
Thank you.

I agree. The NHPD should work with SeeClickFix and City Hall to find ways that quality of life and policing issues (e.g., drug dealing, muggings, speeding, illegal motorcycles, urinating in public) can be acknowledged.
This is a lot easier with bike racks, of course, which are a very simple issue having to do with the entire city, that one person at City Hall spends a few hours per year on. The City has a "bike rack request tool" at http://www.cityofnewhaven.com/TrafficParking/BikeParking.asp that I think a student set up a couple years ago -- perhaps a student would be willing to volunteer to build a similar online tool for reporting issues like drug dealing.

Lt. Wasilewski:
Looking at the other issues posted recently by this reporter, I'm guessing that it is this issue:

I have entered several posts with respect to drug dealing on Liberty and Carlisle Streets. There was no response from any City Departments. This is exactly why I had entered this post. To see that it generated any attention at all makes me think that there is in fact SOMEONE paying attention. I do need to mention that Dolores Colon did respond to a post, but she's is not a police officer and unfortunately has limited power to controlling what is going on. Lt. Wasilewski, the heart of the problems are located at the corner store on Liberty and Carlisle and the residents at 58 Liberty Street (drug dealing and selling) and their buddies at 58 Liberty Street who now like to hang out at Carlisle. If I get car tags and descriptions, I will surely follow through.
Thank you

This issue is from 2011, so I am closing it. Please report on-going or new problems as a new issue in SCF in the "policing issue" category.
NHPD District Managers now have SCF dashboard accounts to make it easier to respond to these issues. The email notifications on Blackberrys were a little difficult to follow (as Lt Wasilewski's responses above indicate), so hopefully information in the discussion thread will now be readily accessible for them in the field.
