My husband had an extremely close call with a car this morning, Elm and Church st.
He walks to work (Yale) and car came out of no where, sped through cross walk-husband was so upset-we have a five month old at home he was so started he was afraid it was the end.
This is becoming a weekly occurrence for those who walk/bike in this city. We live East Rock--5 pedestrians we're hit last month The Independent reported. I have lived in all sections of the city from the Hill to Tre, now on State Street in East Rock. It takes me forever to cross State---with a baby---Drivers do not care--it is your job to figure out a way to make them care. I almost lost my husband today.
Drivers need to respect the roads.
