Vehicle traffic is not required to stop. This ClickFix request to bring the crossing into compliance with traffic visibility standards was first made in 2019. Now, after another request in March 2022, we have made the leap from a simple solution to an even more confusing situation for vehicles and pedestrians/cyclists.

Per the STOP signs on the trail, trail users are responsible to stop. Cross traffic on Cathcart does not.

UPDATE: I met with Boe Carlson, Superintendent of the Three Rivers Park District, this week at the intersection of Cathcart, 62nd St, and the trail. Boe stated that the City of Shorewood has never communicated to him that local residents have been complaining for years about this part of the trail and safety issues. I provided Boe the printout of all of the comments from residents and City Staff. Clearly, City Staff have been gaslighting local resident concerns for years. Boe indicated that he wants to speak with City officials and the Hennepin County Railroad Authority. At the end of the day, it will be the City of Shorewood and the Railroad Authority who needs to improve this intersection. Boe is hopeful that the Railroad Authority and Hennepin County will get moving on this ASAP. I have attached contacts to the City of Shorewood, Hennepin County Railroad Authority, and Three Rivers Park District. I urge all of you to absolutely flood these people and the local media with your concerns so we can finally get the job done.

Public Works has worked with Three Rivers Park District on making improvements on this area. The improvements have been completed.
