This store is more like a psych ward now. Many people loitering and hostile to customers. Yes unfortunates. But it's no place to be for them , not for the length of time that they are wandering about.
I don't see any caseworkers or supervisors of any kind. The aisles are getting dirtier and dirtier.
One register open of some joke telling goofball and no one opens the doors properly until 9am ( open at 7am)
No one is turning on the self checkout registers until 10 sometimes.
Is it true that this manager was a former Local Cop ? If he was it would explain a lot , obviously he is continuing his same bad behavior.
I looked around for a HQ for complaints and reports but I see none - you won't get anywhere here with that

Right? This is the most disgusting Stop & Shop anywhere! They don’t care about the store, they don’t care about the condition of the food, and they don’t care how dirty it is. It smells like a freaking ashtray from the minute you park your car until you get inside! I complained through the phone number and they were out there cleaning up and scrubbing down within days. They chased away the unfortunate people who hang out there smoking cigarettes like that’s their job!
It was good for about 3 weeks. Then they stopped paying attention again, so I started a chat with a virtual assistant on the link below.
If you want to complain about any store, or any store manager, you can chat via the virtual assistant here:
https://stopandshop.com/help/contact
Or just Call: 800-767-7772
They will take your complaint seriously end respond with direct action, but it’s going to take more than just you and me, someone else needs to call; more people multiple times every day until they got the message about how poorly run and disgustingly dirty is the store is.
I also called the cops and ask them to send mental health caseworkers – I’m not sure if they do but the Birmingham group used to run out there and give these people assistance and shelter. If you have the guts, call City Hall and ask the mayor to do something about it.
We need more people, but it Hass to start with Stop & Shop. If they keep hearing from more people than just me, I believe that they will help these poor bastards and make the store a pleasant place to shop. There is no reason that the Shelton and Seymour stores should be so much cleaner than the one in the Ansonia! I don’t care if the manager was a former cop, a former nurse, or a former mental patient – however this is not doing his or her job and we need to send Stoller Choppa a message call or contact the virtual assistant at the address above
If we work together, we have power! This is important to everyone!
