This needs to end now. Parks are not for camping. I thought people could not be in parks after hours or is that rule not applied to the homeless. It's unsanitary if there's no facilities. Oakland needs to start coming up with solutions.
The laws don't apply to the homeless. No one bothers to see what activities most are doing and that's the problem, they get away with illegal activities and have no consequences. Other cities come up with solutions and Oakland does nothing.
Tidy or not, a park is not a campground and they do use garbage cans if they are around, the trouble is that the garbage cans are most likely stolen. Oakland needs to start addressing this issue before the big storms arrive.

There are more people setting up camp on the basketball court because of the rain. Can the City find them all a place indoors? The person with all the gear had rearranged it's layout, but he still entrenched in the corner. He's an older guy who walks with a limp; I'd love to see him in a more stable setting.
They don't want a place indoors, because they would have rules to follow, but allowing them to set up camp in parks should not be allowed. This is a park not a campground.
