i take your point john, but you know what? every non-driving homeowner also pays full property taxes, but the town is absolutely shameful about winter sidewalk clearance, never mind one single pothole

I think Dedham does a great job clearing the sidewalks, although they get blamed for not clearing state sidewalks and sidewalks in some areas. Town Meeting has rejected a fine for clearing sidewalks. If people are unhappy file another article

pothole is in STREET, not sidewalk!!!! The previous two comments therefore are not relevant...

as john made a reference to taxes, my comment about fair use of taxes in street OR sidewalk maintainance is relevant. as a pedestrian taxpayer i pay toward road maintainance yet the sidewalks are, at least in my area, largely ignored by businesses and the town. residents are very good about it, but not the town and the town doesn't see to it that businesses comply. good luck with your pothole.
