I've always wondered why the road is so wide here. Dramatically reducing the travel lane widths by adding a painted median and/or bike lane (which costs very little) could reduce speeds, and perhaps be equally as effective as a stop sign.

Also, a mirror frame already exits at this intersection (for motorists exiting driveways at 412-420 Lighthouse Rd). The mirror itself, however, has been busted for some time now.

Ditto Mark's comment from above. Traffic calming measures are definitely needed along the entire length of Lighthouse Road. Existing crosswalks are also faded at numerous intersection along Lighthouse Road

Many people use Juliano Park right near this intersection of Lighthouse/Marion. Its only a matter of time before someone speeds around the blind curve at Marion St and either broadsides another car pulling out of a driveway or a pedestrian crossing the street. Seriously, this spot might be a prime contender for a modern ROUNDABOUT

This intersection might actually be a great place for a roundabout, perhaps a mini-roundabout...Like the two that were recently put on Woodward Ave. The right-of-way is probably there. Considering that many motorists roll through stop signs and don't come to a complete stop anyways, a roundabout would do just as well. Speeding is a serious issues along Lighthouse Road, and with the curve at Marion St visibility is seriously limited. The fact that Juliano Park is right there just increases the need to improve this location. All of LIghthouse Road could benefit from traffic calming. Perhaps improvement to this intersection could be the start.

I wouldn't bother with a stop sign or especially a round about, I would put a speed bump there and a sign notifying people of a speed bump. It would only take someone damaging their car once on a speed bump to never speed thru there again.

Speed humps would work. Several speed humps (instead of 1 or 2 here and there) could/should be installed to minimize speeding along longer stretches of Lighthouse Road.

A recent storm blew down the Speed Monitoring sign, which provided some help with traffic coming from Lighthouse Park. When will that sign be replaced? Thanks.
