I agree, it's bad enough that people cross against working lights, but when the light is always flashing no one let's the cars out and it's a steady stream of pedestrians crossing in front of cars when you do finally get a break to go.

This issue has been routed to the appropriate unit for review.

It has been this way for over 14 years. The lights were BRIEFLY used for about 3 weeks maybe 12-13 years ago. Using that light would also help slow down the idiots that speed up to 45 mph going north. Trying to cross the in the crosswalk in the next street is tricky even with the signs about pedestrian rights.
good luck no matter what you send to Albany they just come up with a lousy answer that does nothing. Have been trying to get Pine Street/Pearl st corner lights to be all red when allowing pedestrians to cross with NO turn on red because that corner is even more dangerous.

Then do something! still a problem that light should be on from 6:30 AM or 6:30 pm minimum. This is to allow cars to make turns out of parking lots and pedestrians to cross without getting hit by speeding motorist racing down street some after making right on red from Hudson without stopping .

Why has nothing been done, it is 8 months since this was asked. That light should be on every day at least between 6:30 am through 6:30 pm so cars can get through intersection and pedestrians can safely cross without speeding idiots racing down pearl street and making right on reds without even stopping ..

This light is on a full cycle when I cross in the morning and evening.

This light has worked consistently since it was installed but there is an issue with drivers who do not obey the traffic signal. I was the first car and as I fully stopped for a red light, a small SUV came from behind me, crossed into the incoming traffic lane and made an illegal left turn onto Beaver Street heading west. Fortunately, the man waiting to cross saw what the car was doing and waited. Disgraceful and dangerous.
