Right now..there technically is no handicapped parking at all...no sign and no painted wheelchair on the ground. True, there are able bodied people with signs but that is not who is parking there. People too lazy to walk up the street to the bank are parking there.

Refuse to spend any money in that section of town and make both the elected officials and the business owners in that area of town aware as to why you are purposely not spending your money there. hit em'where it hurts, in their wallets.

My favorite store to shop in is there...Mother Earth. I didn't so any holiday shopping in town because I couldn't find handicapped parking..or any parking for that matter.

Still not fixed. Still no handicapped sign. I had no place to park yesterday so I couldn't get what I needed. These people don't care one bit about the handicapped. Someone should file a complaint with the Americans With Disabilities.

This is really an unbelievable situation...Saugerties is in violation of federal law and they just don't care. I wonder if Maurice Hinchey could be of help? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Even when there is a handicapped sign on this parking spot, non-handicapped people who are only "running into the bank for a minute" take this spot. I watch them over & over again, meanwhile I circle the block over and over again for a space that I can walk from (and I am handicapped). Thank you all you inconsiderates!

I have the same experience and I have to go to Mother Earth and Smith's Hardware ..cannot drive all the way to Kingston for a hammer! They have meter maids now so if you park at non handicapped space and don't put the money in then you get a ticket while the village is in violation of federal law. Hmmmm. What's wrong with this picture?

The appropriate government officials have been notified and I have added an additional government official to be notified of this issue. It might be helpful to the city and SeeClickFix if others supported this issue and helped to notify the city's Department of Public Works.

Still no sign..still no painted wheel chair on the ground...still no concern about the handicapped. I waited 20 minutes yesterday to get into a meter space. Please tell people to make complaints to the AWD.

The sign is back up but the ground is still not painted with a wheelchair. I'm waiting for the sign to be stolen again and months of no parking there to face.

They put up sign but the cop told me it's too low to be legal and that the ground needs to be painted with the wheelchair or at least a blue box. So no, it hasn't been fixed.

A sign was put up but it's too low so it's illegal. There is also no blue box painting on the road where the car pulls in. What is it with Saugerties not giving a s&*(& about the law except when it is for their own convenience? Do we have to keep living in la la land? How hard is it to put up a correct sign and do this properly? I'm disgusted with this town.

Handicapped people have to walk farther than non handicapped to get to the library. Saugerties has no understanding or compassion for the handicapped. Shame.

As usual, the town of saugerties doesn't care about the handicapped. The town supervisor has bent the laws to his own liking, used his position of power in a self serving and vindictive manner and until he's disabled, let them eat cake!

The town of Saugerties still refuses to comply with the law and put up a proper, legal sign. When it comes to being lazy, illegal, they are the tops! Shame on Saugerties! Not only is the handicapped spot without a blue box w. wheelchair but there are not enough handicapped spots in the town. Someone needs to file a complaint with the Americans with Disabilities and get the town moving and complying.

The sign is still too short. There is no blue wheelchair on the ground. There is no handicapped parking in front of the library. Saugerties needs a wakeup call with a law suit through the Americans With Disabilities and if I didn't have so much on my plate at the moment I would do it personally! Maybe in a few months!

Saugerties has way tooooo few handicapped parking spots on the streets. Are they trying to deter the handicapped from shopping on Main & Partition? When I go into town, if I cant park, I have to drive to Kingston to shop at stores that have handicapped parking. Duh, why not keep my money (and that of so many others) here in our own village? Lord knows we need the revenue. Just take a look around! Its getting harder & harder to shop locally.

The village has placed some obscure spots around but they are far from shopping...the people who decided where they should go are obviously not handicapped...they are around corners on side streets! Huh? Shouldn't they be on the main street closest to the shops? The same faulted way of thinking placed the handicapped spots at the library the furthest from the door. Wake up non handicapped people..THINK!

The town or village, not sure which, added two handicapped spots..one on jane st and the other by the furniture store/pizza. Both spots are a longer walk to get to then the non handicapped spots for those that are capable of carrying heavy packages. What nitwit came up with this as a solution? Obviously someone who doesnt give a damn about those less fortunate than he/she is..and with a total lack of common sense. Nitwits! If no one is willing to file complaints with the dept of justice under the ADA than nothing will change and the handicapped will have to walk further than the non handicapped. That is because nitwits are making decisions in this town, not consulting with handicapped people about where the spots should be. Anyone have any ideas about this?

Ask House Representative Maurice Hinchey to fix it your problems with the money he made on the land he sold for you downtown project. Great investor , he made a $ 470,000.00 profit on said property as he fought for the money to make your project happen. Actually he just wanted the money there so he could rake in the insane profit on a $ 30,000 dollar piece of land he owned.
