It just happened 05/06/2011 around 2:00 pm. there was an accident, this is not the first time. People drives over 40 mph. they dont care about children playing or riding their bikes. is it any way we can have some speed bumps to make them lower their speeds? I live just in the corner of Creech and Layton and I seen some breaking bad to avoid hitting or running on someone. we move here, because it seemed to be a safe place to live. But now we are not so sure anymore. Day or night, you can hear people speeding. hope someone does something

I agree with you ! We live off Stephanie dr and it's directly down the street from a elementary and people fly up and down our street and the kids walking to and from school are in danger especially because we don't have sidewalks . This city needs to really get on top of taking care of our neighborhoods not just our streets .

Sidewalks in the area of schools COULD be built out of the General Fund. It simply is not a high priority.
Believe it or not there is a special fund set for sidewalks. It comes from a fee charged to new development in the city. New development is REQUIRED to install sidewalks across their own property -OR -they may pay into this special fund. The fund should be used to build sidewalks to schools as needed. Also, keep in mind there is little new development going on that would be required to build sidewalks anywhere.
Want more sidewalks? Get more investment in new development in Haltom City!
Want more new or re-development in Haltom City? Eliminate the HUGE impact feees charged to builders!!

PLease note that the city will add a sidewalk to a street that is being reconstructed.

I hear some moron about every 45 minutes Drive up and down Belknap Right in front of the Sea Breeze Motel reving up their engine... it's quite annoying how the Haltom City Police Cant seem to Cease & Desist with the continued Harrasment of mentally disabled citizens and actually do the jobs we the Citizens of Haltom City pay them to do and put a stop to the speeding & other crimes actually being committed
