    I'm Mariya, Activity Assistant at Las Ventanas Continuing Care Retirement Community.
    We're located at 10401 W Charlston Blvd, Las Vegas, 89135.

    On behalf of all our Residents, we are requesting your help to organize a safe crosswalk from our Community to the Park.

    Here are some details:

    Las Ventanas has four levels of care for our seniors:
    Independent/Residential (250 ppl),
    Skilled Nursing/Rehab (60 ppl)
    Assisted Living (60 ppl)
    Memory Care (15 ppl)

    Our independent residents utilize on a daily basis the park for a walk, pet walk, exercise, or picnic. If the residents from Rehab and Assisted Living want to enjoy the park, they need to be pushed in their wheelchairs.

    However, there is no appropriate safe crosswalk from our Buildings to the Park. I have attached images and comments for a better view.

    Please assist us in getting zebras, road signs, and if necessary sidewalk re-structure to make the Park accessible for our valued residents.

    Approximately six streetlights on west bound side W Alexander Rd before N Hualapai Way are equipped with sodium vapor type lighting. This type of lighting is more prevalent in an industrial area. By comparison, the entirety of the residential area along W Alexander is retrofitted with Light Emitting Diode (LED) streetlights. The LED lighting so more reliable when compared to the sodium vapor lighting that habitually cycle off and on throughout the night This creates a safety hazard for pedestrian traffic that frequently crosses W Alexander between Majestic Park and Lone Mountain, quite often with children and pets Please retrofit the last remaining streetlighwith to lighting.

The neighborhood recently experienced a loss of a child due to poor traffic control and has been made aware of the fact that multiple studies have been requested for the area prior to our loss and would like to know if or when the study will start.     I am Ricardo Rosenbusch, a resident in the Independent Living section of the Las Ventanas at Summerlin Life Plan Community. As chair of the resident Exterior and Environment Committee, I hear resident concerns about use of exterior facilities. One concern that has come up repeatedly is the safety of the Indigo St/ Griffith Peak Ave intersection. Our residents use the intersection to access the nearby Village Park as pedestrians, and to navigate the intersection as drivers when they come from Griffith Peak and want to do a Left turn onto Indigo.
    I am here requesting a Traffic Pattern Study for the Indigo St/ Griffith Peak Ave intersection.
    The location sees very heavy vehicular traffic when the Faith Lutheran Junior and High School, plus the Faith Lutheran Preschool parents bring or pick up their children at school start or close. During that time, traffic is continuous for nearly an hour each time. Currently, there is a STOP sign on Indigo heading South into the intersection, and another one on the East exit of the Preschool parking lot. The signs contribute very little to a smooth flow of traffic.
    The Junior High and High School has designated pedestrian crossings for the students on Sandstone Bluff, and there is no need for students to cross any part of the intersection I am addressing, so their needs may be covered during high traffic times. Pedestrians such as our residents cross Griffith Peak at the intersection.
    I have informed our Las Ventanas Executive Director, Yvette Duarte, of this concern. She has encouraged me to move forward with the request for a Traffic Pattern Study for the intersection. She is supportive of the request, representing the whole of the Las Ventanas community.
