  • 20350 Excelsior Boulevard Shorewood, Minnesota - Shorewood

Many people (my family included) bike and walk along Excelsior Blvd between Vine Hill and Manor Rd. A sidewalk or shoulder is desperately needed for safety. Many families with small children, people with dogs, elderly populations, and many cyclist groups utilize this road to access all that Shorewood and the surrounding neighborhoods have to offer. Excelsior Blvd along this stretch is a high traffic road where people drive very fast (tourists, church goers, uber/lyft drivers, and visitors to the area) yet there is low visibility with all the turns and trees, and it's VERY difficult to see pedestrians.

I’d like to request a sidewalk extension or shoulder to be incorporated into the plans for the road reconstruction along this stretch of Excelsior Blvd. I believe a mill and overlay is scheduled for this fall, to which I am referring.

Very large boulders close to the roadway. Danger to cars, pedestrians and snow plows.
  • Tree Issue Archived
5725 Featherie Bay Shorewood, MN, 55331, USA - Shorewood
Several trees have been removed impacting the road buffer and conditions around the homes. One very large old tree was removed late Fall last year and never replaced. This tree was an old oak that provided shelter for animals and served as a focal point on the path. We would like to see a new tree planted to replace it and provide shelter on the path. There was also a large tree damaged in a storm that died and was taken out. This tree provided coverage from the driveway that goes in and out of Badger Park and City Hall to the homes that are across the street. We now get headlights from all the traffic leaving the park directly to our house with the tree gone. Can this one also be replaced?
  • Forest Dr Excelsior, MN, 55331, USA - Shorewood
MY PARENTS LIVE AT 20925 FOREST DRIVE AND THE PEOPLE ACROSS THE STREET AT 20920 FOREST DRIVE DECIDED TO PUT LARGE ROCKS AROUND THERE YARD ON THE EDGE OF THE ROAD. THEY PARK IN THE ROAD AND YOU CAN'T GET AROUND THEM. I HAVE A SMALL SUV AND HAD TO GO UP ON THE SNOWBANK TO GET AROUND THEM THIS MORNING. MY MOTHER HAS COPD AND IF AN AMBULANCE HAD TO COME IN THERE THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO!!! I KNOW FOR A FACT BECAUSE IT WAS IN THE PAPER THAT YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ROCKS ON THE ROAD LIKE THAT. THE SNOWPLOW BARELY GOT THRU THERE. HOPEFULLY IT WILL NOT SNOW THE REST OF THE YEAR BECAUSE THERE IS NO PLACE TO PUT THE SNOW. THESE ROCKS MUST BE REMOVED SO PEOPLE CAN GET THRU THE DEADEND!!! THE CITY HAS MADE IT A RULE. PLEASE FOLLOW THRU AND HAVE THEM REMOVE THESE ROCKS, THEY ARE AWARE THIS IS AN ISSUE AND I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THEM MOVE THERE VEHICLES BEFORE. I AM NOW COMING TO THE CITY FOR HELP FOR MY PARENTS. THEY HAVE TALKED TO PEOPLE OUT THERE AND SO FAR NO ONE HAS CARED. I AM NOW TAKING THIS TO YOU.
  • Mayflower Rd & Chaska Rd Shorewood, MN, 55331, USA - Shorewood
I don’t know if this is allowed, but these two trailers have been parked on the side of Mayflower between Galpin and Chaska for months. Again today people walking their dog had to go in the street with car traffic to get around the trailers.
    It does not seem safe.
  • 6087-6199 Cathcart Dr Excelsior, MN, 55331, USA - Shorewood
There are too many trees and shrubs on the trail side of where the trail crosses 62nd street and Cathcart road. It is really dangerous and hard for motorists coming down 62nd street from the church or heading south on Cathcart to see any walkers or bikers on the trail. And bikers and walkers to see cars coming from either direction. It's bad enough that the trail crosses in the middle of a 90 degree corner. Plus STOP signs for bikes and walkers need to be larger and in the middle of the trail to increase compliance with the STOP order. Recently an older cyclist blew through right in front of me, I had to brake hard, and then he flipped me the bird.
  • 20250 Excelsior Blvd Excelsior, MN, 55331, USA - Shorewood
Fall of 2019 Excelsior Blvd was repaved. The repaved road is higher than it
used to be. The water used to flow past our driveway, another 200-300 yards and then into the storm drain on the other side of the street to the east. Now all the water to the northwest of us runs down our driveway and yard and is carrying all the dirt and gravel from the road with it. It is also causing a gully to form where it is running through the back yard.
We would like to get a 1-2" tar birm put in at our driveway head to keep the water on the street and moving to the storm drain. Please let us know when / if that can be done. Thank you, Dave and Lisa Alrick
  • Galpin Ln & Galpin Lake Rd Shorewood, MN, 55331, USA - Shorewood
The city was doing work at this location and have left a large hole and exposed, hanging wires. They have been there for weeks, and I don't know if there are plans to come back and complete the job. This seems dangerous to be left like this. Can you please look into it? It's by the telephone pole right where Galpin Ln and Galpin Lake Rd meet.
  • 4500-4622 Enchanted Ln Shorewood, MN, 55364, USA - Shorewood
We are seeing a lot of people parking and fishing in this area. They are leaving a lot of trash on the lakeshore and hidden in the shoreline. Suggest either placing garbage cans or evaluating this zone for public parking and fishing
  • 6125 Church Rd Shorewood MN 55331, United States - Shorewood
Last week a tree removal company was out clearing out snow/dirt on the outskirts the drainage ditch in the cul de sac, but they moved the piles into the entrance of the drainage ditch. Whatever little flow there was for the water to drain is now completely blocked. There is already a little back up and some flooding on the road, but with the temps warming next week there is going to be no where for the water to go.
  • 23470 Highway 7 Shorewood, MN, 55331, USA - Shorewood
At the horrible intersection just north of HWY 7 and 41:
The stop sign for those that are approaching from Caribou Coffee is completely obscured by tree branches. Many people don't see the sign, so they do not stop.
  • 5460 Howards Point Rd Shorewood, MN, 55331, USA - Shorewood
There are clusters of signs in this immediate area, on several properties, that violate the political sign rules. Please address this matter as soon as possible.
