This is oil going into protected marsh lands. It’s been reported and reported for more than a month. This is going to become a liability issue for the City if not addressed immediately. Corner Eden and Concord. Can’t miss the slick of oil and rust.

This has been happening for months now and the issue is being ignored by the city.

Thank you for reporting. We have not been ignoring this issue, but actively investigating. We have visited the site multiple times to verify oil in the groundwater being pumped. This week we have obtained samples of the water and are testing it for petroleum products. Pumping clean groundwater to the storm sewer is not a prohibited activity, and iron oxide is not by itself a pollutant of concern. While we have been unable to directly observe evidence of petroleum products in our visits to the site, the water testing should establish whether there is an illicit discharge.

We are trying to delineate issues that are current and need the city's attention to resolve. Many issues that were marked as acknowledged were not closed when completed so we are closing acknowledged but not closed issues from prior to 2021.
