Well, I think its a little bit upsurd to believe that children are baning together in an effort to "trample" your lawn and Your lawn alone.
I am confused as to why you believe jewish children, not black children as you mentioned have decided there is something special about you and your yard and therefore must target you and your lawn.
It's hard to imagine that the Chabad children have singled you out like you have singled them out in this post and then called to have other people join you in your absurdity.
Clearly you are not working as you seem to be at home "guarding" your precious lawn so I would imagine you have proof to back up your blatant attack on a group of Chabad children.

The kids that I see are always very respectful. They are children at the end of the day so sometimes they do things that are wrong but when I've spoken to the parents they are always respectful and speak to their children to do the right thing.

@anonymous, your comment is extremely offensive and hurtful. You say you are not targeting a religion? That is exactly what you are doing. You say you spoke to the parents? Which ones did you speak to? Do you understand that you're talking about 200 large families. You're lumping them all together as one denoted by their religion. You talk about kids jetting down the sidewalk on their bikes and scooters. Where would you like them to ride their bikes and scooters down the middle of the street? Then you bring race into the picture causing divisiveness. You mentioned property destruction as if they are destroying your property somehow by riding down the sidewalk with your scooters. Please take your hatred somewhere else.

To Chaya, I am accumulating videos. I had to install a security camera just because of these people, at considerable expense, after I wrote four emails to the president of this group, usually getting no reply. Three times my security system has been hacked into and shut down, just before sundown Friday, and then started again Saturday night, so I get no clips at the crucial time.
To Gomu, I have spoken to the parents whenever I saw it happening, and most will not even speak to me about it. They generally deny that their children did it. I see the children doing this right in front of their parents. I'm totally fed up, completely frustrated. It's not just one or two. Not one person has come to talk with me about the problem, although some have urged me to take action. Some have been friendly, and most of the children don't cause trouble. But you, again, are refusing to acknowledge that there's a problem, so we get nowhere. The property damage and the careening down the sidewalk are two separate violations (and yes, it is illegal to ride bicycles on the sidewalk--it must be on the street). It is not the entire congregation that is destroying our property -- it is individuals. But when nobody tries to help, and my pleas to the president of the congregation go unanswered, then I wonder if anybody in this congregation cares. I continually hear a lot of anger from my neighbors, often directed at a people at large, and I always tell them is it individuals in this group. But there is resentment on several different levels, and is this congregation going to address the causes? Talking honestly with the rest of us would help. And having discussions within the group on how to live peaceably with others would help.

Chaya-this happened over the summer. They were older boys (old enough to drive) they would come to the park around 5 or so & play baseball & a few times would play football by the horseshoe pit along with baseball. They would leave their water bottles all over the fields & dug out along with chip & ice pop debris. I opened a seeclickfix ticket the first night I saw the trash all over. I also called the parks department because it is not fair for the parks department employees to clean up after someone when there are trash cans a few feet away from where the boys were. Some were actually standing/sitting on top of the dug out roof which is completely unsafe.

Im sorry to hear about the issues youre having with your security footage, that must be really distressing. If you have any videos it would be helpful. I posted your concerns to moms who attend synagogue and they will all be making an effort to make sure their children do not step on your wall or fence. Regarding biking or scooting on the sidewalk, it would be incredibly dangerous for children to ride in the street. Im sure you would agree the sidewalk is okay for children to ride on. Lets work together on the issue of the children climbing on your wall. Like I said it takes a village but im sure we can improve this situation. Thank you for recognizing that this is a problem of specific children and individuals, labeling any group is not helpful to anyone in solving issues. NewHaven2020 thank you for clarifying that this was an issue in the Summer. I wonder did you approach the young men and remind them to clean up? I would hope if my son left a mess and i wasnt there to remind him to clean up, that another grown up would do so. I know the young mens school takes these concerns very seriously. Im afraid that by calling the parks department instead of just speaking with the young mens teachers, they may have never gotten the feedback about the mess they were leaving. I am not trying to make excuses i am just asking that if this happens again that you please call the school. Like all educators they are trying to guide young men into being responsible adults. Feedback like this is crucial to that process. Finally, thank you for caring about the beauty of the park. Its a great space and is definitely nicer to be in when its litter free.

Sounds like you are trying to point the blame to a specific group of people. You have no proof that Jewish children are responsible. Im sure lots of people walk up and down the block every day including people that have dogs. How do you know that they are not the ones causing the damage?
It seems very strange that your security system happens to "shut down" when Jewish kids are walking down the street. You should know that they are not allowed to use electronics Friday night and Saturday.
Take the time to get to know your neighbors and you will realize that they are good people.

Gomu -- What else can I say? I called my security company and they confirmed that it was hacked into. You know the significance of the time period. Do I have to spell it out? Your response to me is typical of what I have gotten from adults from this congregation. Denial. Blame me. Try to poke holes in my accusation. In these seeclickfix messages it is not possible to got into great detail or nuance. One time it was actually turned off early Saturday morning and then turned on late Saturday night. These are not just innocent coincidences. Some adults (or at least savy older teenagers) are deliberately trying to sabotage my ability to document the incidences. Of course, it is the weekend then, and the security company is closed until Monday. This past weekend it happened again, and a lot of damage was done to my property, which I couldn't document. But I'm getting more savy, and no I have to check the system every Friday evening before the security company closes. I should not have to live this way! Yes, it's not all the Lubavitch who are doing this, but, despite what they tried to allege, it is only the Lubavitch children. I have never seen a Black child destroy my property. I tried, in the beginning, going out and very kindly asking the parents not to allow their children to do this, but they wouldn't even talk with me. As I said, some others were sympathetic. One told me, "Don't be nice! Take action!" So that's what I'm doing.

Chaya -- I deeply appreciate your comments. You're trying to help. Since I have no way of contacting you, it's hard to share the videos with you. I am going to accumulate more (I have only three now, one more damning than the others) because I don't think anyone is going to take me seriously if I can not show that the worst happens more than once. It's hard to catch, even with the security camera. Sometimes I catch it in person, and sometimes I've run out to confront them, but it always turns out badly. So I've become an ogre, attacking children! I don't blame it on the children--I blame it on the adults. Once I capture more footage, I am going to send the video clips to both the president of your congregation and to the police. I'm sorry it has come to this, but for two years now I have tried everything, and being too nice about it.

Im sure you have a phone. If its truly the lubavitch children destroying only your property then take some pictures of it happening. You say it happens every week Friday night and Saturday. If it was happening to me every week I would be sitting by my window taking pictures. Seems to me like you don't have the proof because it doesn't exist.

I can assure you that your cameras are not being hacked into by anyone in the Jewish community. My guess is that they're not being hacked into at all. I do recall someone on Ellsworth having signs up asking people to stay off their grass and property. Members of the community were informed about this and we're asked to be extra careful. I went myself to look at the property and I was very surprised and confused to find a property that is clearly unkempt by the owner. I also walk that area regularly and haven't had a problem with scooters or bikes on the sidewalk. It would also make no sense for people to stop at the property in question. Furthermore people in the Orthodox Jewish community do not ride bikes on the Sabbath. I would also find it very rare for someone to ride a scooter on the Sabbath except for maybe a young child.

To "Neighbor" -- You have not read my comments. I am actively taking pictures and videos. I've even spent four hours at a time on Saturday sitting by a window trying to capture it, but then it doesn't happen. I've taken pictures with my cellphone of the damage. But how to prove that it is these specific children, even though I've seen them do it with my own eyes? This has been a nightmare for me. That's why I had to install an expensive security camera--just for this! Your response is typical. Denial. Blame me. Poke holes in my accusation.

It is hacked into before sundown Friday, and again after sundown on Saturday -- even when the shut-off time happens within that time period. The security company has shown me this. This is why I can get nowhere with people from this congregation, because they always want to call me a liar.

I do not doubt that children have climbed on your wall. Sometimes children like to run ahead and they especially like to climb. Raising this issue again has been a reminder for all parents to be especially careful that children stay on the sidewalk where they are allowed to play.
Regarding your security footage, please share it when it becomes available. Jews are not permitted to use any form of electronics on the Sabbath. Lubavitch Jews are especially strict about this rule. Im sorry your system is having issues perhaps there is another explanation? It does not benefit parents to have your system hacked. It only makes it harder to address the issue.

To Gomu -- Again, you are calling me a liar. But that is a lie that my property is "clearly unkempt." This is vile! I challenge you to come here and show me what is unkempt. A garden, with periwinkle and hostas, is not unkempt. My property is the most well-maintained property on the block. Again, typically, you refuse to accept responsibility. And, as I said before, don't confuse the issues of bike/scooter riding with the destruction of property. The former happens during the week. The latter happens on Saturday. I will keep a screenshot of your comments, to use as evidence of the nastiness that I have had to face.

Im sorry youre having these security issues. Children love to run and climb. Im sure there are children who run ahead of their parents and see a little wall as a climbing challenge. Lets work together to meet your goal of keeping children off your wall. I will speak with my son about this as im sure other moms will too.

To Chaya -- Thank you for your concern. I know there are good people in every group. And there are some really nasty people who have responded here. As I said, I have never blamed the children. I blame the adults, and I ask them to teach their children respect for other people's property.

You are the one who posted and blamed the lubavitch children for destroying your property with no proof. I am not denying what you are saying or loking holes into your story. YOU blamed a certain group of children for what is happening to you but you dont have the proof.
If it was me paying so much money for a security company but it kept getting hacked evrery time I needed it I wouldn't pay and would find another security company. You say you have seen the kids destroying your yard. Why didnt you get proof then?
Maybe next time before publicly blaming an entire group of people for your property getting destroyed get the proof first and speak to who is responsible and show them the proof.

I have never accused the "Jewish community" -- let's get that clear. Don't make this larger than it is. I never used that word. This is about one group of people in my specific neighborhood, and no other.

To "Neighbor" -- You don't get it, do you? How many times do I have to say that I did confront the parents when I saw this happening. It's a little hard to document an action after it happened. And when they lie about it, refusing to acknowledge what they, themselves, saw. It happens in a second. As I said, I have taken photos of the damage. I cannot sit by my window 24-7 watching this. I understand your frustration and based on the responses i got from community members, moms here are equally frustrated. Parents try their best to keep their children from going on anyones property. As the mom of an active boy who needs frequent reminders, i understand that parents who are doing their best to teach their children, might still have a child who wants to play to the beat of their own drum. What is happening here is no different than what is happening every where else in New Haven. The City simply doesn't care about littering (or any other quality of life issues) by anybody in any neighborhood. It's no longer politically acceptable to file grievances about such issues. Sad, but true.

You are right, "Our New Haven." I will respond to this because it expands the dialogue. The city doesn't care. I have sent so many letters to the mayor and the chief of police about other things, and they just don't even respond. Incidentally, I sent a letter asking the city about speeding, and, specifically, to put a cross-walk at the Jewish school because, I said, eventually a child is going to get hit by the speeding cars on this street. But when the school was Catholic, and parents were continually blocking my driveway, I called the police and told them it was the Catholic parents, so they went there and put a stop to it. How else was I going to identify the culpables if I just said it was drivers in general, which it was not? When I called the police to complain about loud hip-hop at 3 AM from cars parked in the street, I didn't have to specify race or religion. But I was still accused of racism. I don't care. I will identify who is causing the trouble. We suffer consequences when we speak up, but that's not going to stop me.

Mr. Lamp. Please show your evidence so that we can correct the problem. I never heard of hacking into a security system. That sounds like a wild conspiracy. You say you have a camera, please share the footage and we can address it.

Chesky -- a hacker can hack into any account you have on the internet. That's how it works. I didn't say it, the security company said it, and I think they know a little bit about these things. They showed me exactly when someone else logged into my system to do it. I had to change my password each time. Unfortunately, they can't identify the hacker--or, at least, it would be difficult and costly to try. I didn't know it was hacked when I called them. I was just freaking out at the coincidence of timing. My Jewish housemate said it was God (jokingly). But the security company didn't agree. I will share the footage, but I'm going to do this through law enforcement, because I have had very bad experiences dealing directly with this congregation.
