Yes, it is unreal that the city turns a blind eye to this. Panhandling is allowed on a daily basis at the corner of Old Wake and Capital to help support these addicted individuals. Ultimately the woods in this area probably need to be cut down and the area cleaned out. The number of shopping carts out there is crazy too. It would be nice if the people out there used them to wheel their trash someplace. The chaos of this area makes me think that is reminiscent of what is going on in the drugged out brain.
There's a half-fallen chopped down tree and about 50 stolen shopping carts, along with many dumpsters full of trash. Can we not use city resources to help people? It is not safe or healthy for people to be living outside in garbage. And I can't image why the nearby hotels and restaurants aren't incentivized to help. I looked it up on google maps and it's gone from 2 tents and 1 cart to an absolutely scary looking landfill in 6 months flat.
