When code violations are present, an order to resolve the matter and come into compliance with city codes is given to the property owner. If the remedy does not take place within the allotted time given, a citation is issued and heard in Municipal Court.

Help me, mother government! Save me from having to look at someone else's property!

NO changes. Cars parked everywhere. Cars loaded on trailers. No action taken by the city. Its' like this everyday. The guy across the street has started his own collection now. He has a small shed in his front yard. Violation of building code and fire code. I believe both of these are home businesses. The city is doing a poor job on following up on these businesses in residentila areas.

My tenants complain the neighbhood is going down hill and I have a hard time renting because of people like you who don’t take care of their property. I guess you don’t care about your property values. I would suggest you get your PHD in Urban Development and your research on the land covenants that cover Rio Rancho. Let’s see if you even know where to look. And it’s not at the Mining and Tech in Socorro.

Property is only worth what someone else will pay for it. I guess it sounds like you are charging too much for your land if you can't keep tenants. You could perhaps charge less rent or improve your property. Instead, you'd rather force everyone else to maintain your vision of aesthetics on their own property. This post says junk cars. Who are you to declare my car as junk, and can I start declaring your particle board, chicken wire and mud homes junk?

Why would I get a PhD in Urban Development? Think it will convince me that others have a say to my property? Maybe if some other people with PhDs tell me I have no right to my property that I'll believe it? Surely you jest.

I agree totally!!!!!!!!! If you even try and sell your house, it won't sell due to the surroundings. Property valus will continue to decline and decline. Some people are to ignorant to understand that . Keep complaining to the city until action is taken.

The problem is that city codes being violated is unacceptable. Let us take this directly to the mayor and the new city manager and see what can be done legally about people who insist they have no rules to live by.

Nobody has answered the question: by what standard will you determine what is allowed on my property? popular vote? your personal aesthetics? Who are you, or my neighbors or a city manager to determine what color I paint my house, or whether the car I use is "junk"?

Not following codes, regulations. News is full of people with junk all over their homes. The city of Albuquerque recently had to clean up a entire yard due to hoarding problems. The lady thought she could hoard on her property. That is not the case at all.I believe she was issued a citation and fined. People think they can do whatever they want on their property. LOOK! I am not the one that complained to RIO Rancho concerning the junk cars. I only agreed with the one that did make the complaint. If the city has codes concerning the junk cars , trash and weeds then it is the responsibility of the code enforcement to follow through and address this issue. People face consequences of laws, whether the law itself is immoral or not. In this case, the law is in direct violation of their property rights, and should be overturned.

I'd rather the "code enforcement" division start working on their resumes and become productive members of society instead of enforcers of immoral legislation.

What manner should I view this? Other people decide what I can do on my land that I purchased. It is a violation of property rights, not a 'beautification" or anything else. Should I view a robbery as a "chance to help someone in need?" Or perhaps I should view slavery as an "opportunity to work outside?"
