For the past week, there has been a ton of fireworks going off in this general vicinity as recently as 3 AM this morning.

Please step up patrols.

Our officers are aware of this and are investigating when the fireworks are set off in the late night, but they have given a bit of flexibility surrounding the 4th of July celebration this past week.

Last night's fireworks were the loudest ever. I thought maybe it was dynamite. Time to curb the celebrating.

Holiday or not, 3am is ridiculous. Just as a general observation, noise violations in this city are not treated seriously, regardless of the cause. In any other area (urban or suburban) I have lived in, violations are ticketed. In Raleigh however, I have witnessed some serious disturbances with not a single citation issued, even when police were on the scene.

If there exists no punishment for disturbing the peace, for what reason will these offenders halt their actions? It's obvious they won't stop for the sake of those who work in the morning.
